Information to help you select a Sound option

The sound option will determine the quality of the sound/music your computer will produce. The AC 97 standard option is a good sounding basic alternative which can save money on the system cost without any additional costs.  The AC 97 is the most common sound option in todays computers producing good quality sounds with basic features.  This option is for those who are not concerned with heavy multimedia use in the systems or those who choose simple speakers for their system. The Creative cards produce a higher quality sound and add many features depending on the model specified.  The 16-bit Value card has a more clear and crisp sound which can only be noticed through a higher-end speaker system. The Live card has this enhanced sound also coupled with Dolby 5.1 encoding for movie playback (good for DVDs). The Audigy cards add this enhanced sound with additional input options such a firewire ports and 24-bit playback. The Audigy 2 systems adds 5.1 OR 7.1 surround sound depending on the model.  One model even adds a THX experience. The Audigy 2’s (depending on model) also come with a remote input unit with volume controls and even a remote control.

Whichever sound option you choose, we will make sure that your speaker selection matches the quality needed to obtain beneficial results from your choice of sound cards.
